R32 refrigerant

The new R32 refrigerant has a global warming potential of about 1/3* 1 of that of R410A, significantly reducing the negative impact more than ever.

By actively introducing the new R32 refrigerant to combat global warming, Mitsubishi Electric continues to promote manufacturing while protecting the environment.

Plasma Quad Plus

Plasma Quad Plus is a plasma filter that efficiently removes six types of air pollutants.

Plasma Quad Plus captures mould and allergens more efficiently than Plasma Quad.

It can also capture PM2.5 and particles smaller than 2.5 μm, providing healthy living spaces for everyone.

Double vane

The vanes create various airflows to provide comfort for every person in the room.

Not only the horizontal vanes but also the vertical vanes move independently, eliminating hot or cold spots throughout the room.

Quiet operation

The indoor unit noise level is only 19 dB for the LN25/35 models, providing a quiet indoor environment.

Built-in Wi-Fi interface

The indoor unit has a Wi-Fi interface inside a dedicated slot in the unit.

This removes the need to install a separate Wi-Fi interface and also contributes to a clean look, since the interface is hidden.

High energy efficiency

Optimal cooling/heating performance is another feature of the LN series.

Models with capacities from 25 to 50 are rated A+++ for SEER, and the 25 and 35 capacity models are also rated A+++ for SCOP.

3D i-see sensors

The LN series has a 3D i-see sensor, an infrared sensor that measures temperature at distant positions.

While moving from left to right, eight vertically arranged sensor elements analyse the room temperature in three dimensions.

This detailed analysis makes it possible to detect where people are in the room, enabling features such as "indirect airflow", to avoid air blowing directly on people, and "direct airflow", to direct the air to where people are.

Energy saving mode in unoccupied rooms

The sensors detect whether there are people in the room.

When there is nobody in the room, the unit automatically switches to energy saving mode.

The "3D i-see sensor" detects the absence of people and energy consumption is automatically reduced by about 10% after 10 minutes and 20% after 60 minutes.

Direct airflow

This setting can be used to direct the airflow towards people, for example for immediate comfort when coming home on a hot (cold) day.

The airflow is distributed evenly throughout the room, even in areas with no human movement.

The 3D i-see sensor memorises human movement and furniture positions and distributes the airflow efficiently.

Dual barrier coating

A double protective coating prevents dust and greasy dirt from getting into the air conditioner.

State-of-the-art component coating technology

Dirt is generally classified into two groups: hydrophilic dirt, such as fibre dust and sand dust, and hydrophobic dirt, such as cigarette smoke.

The Mitsubishi Electric dual barrier coating works as a double protective layer with "fluorine particles" that keep out hydrophilic dirt and "hydrophilic particles" that keep hydrophobic dirt out of the air conditioning unit.

This double coating of the inner surfaces keeps the air conditioning unit clean all year round.

Night Mode

When "Night Mode" is activated with the remote control, the air conditioner switches to the following settings.

• The brightness of the operation indicator lamp is reduced.
• The "beep" sound is disabled.
• The outdoor operating noise is reduced by 3 dB compared with the rated operating noise specification.

*Cooling/heating capacity may decrease.

10°C heating

In heating operation, the temperature can be set in 1°C steps down to 10°C

This function can be used with the Weekly Timer setting.

The PLASMA QUAD air filtration system proved effective in SARS-CoV-2 virus inactivation tests

PLASMA QUAD is an active air filtration system by Mitsubishi Electric, used in Kirigamine Style (MSZ-LN) air conditioners to remove airborne pollutants such as viruses, bacteria, mould and allergens from rooms.

Tests carried out by the Microbial Testing Laboratory, Kobe Testing Center of QTEC (Japan Textile Products Quality and Technology Center) showed that the PLASMA QUAD filter can successfully inactivate up to 99.8% of the Covid 19 virus (SARS-CoV-2).

This test was carried out in a laboratory using the PLASMA QUAD air filtration system. When a product fitted with a PLASMA QUAD filter is used under normal conditions, the results may differ from those obtained in the laboratory test. The PLASMA QUAD filter captures and neutralises microscopic airborne particles by acting on them as an electrical barrier. By generating and then discharging a high-voltage electric field, this air filtration system captures and inactivates viruses and removes contaminants passing through the filter.
